Well, happy Wednesday! What a beautiful and blustery day! Our day begin with a beautiful Gospel concert and cookies! The residents and myself were amazed by the talent! After the concert, some residents attended Rosary and Communion, while others gathered in the family room for a reminisce group. I read a short story about summer- time memories and then we all told stories of catching fireflies and eating popsicles that made your tongue red! It was a wonderful group. Next was lunch, followed by a craft with terra cotta pots. I called them “Vegas” pots- they certainly have lots of sparkle and were enjoyed by all. We just had to visit the garden today and soak up some sun
Happy final day of May. What a busy day- thought it would best be described in photos
Happy Saturday! We all spent the morning outside on the patio. What a gorgeous morning! First, we started with morning funnies. We all had a good laugh with the humorous short stories and jokes! Some residents took a nice walk and looked at the lovely flowers. Everyone also relaxed and were really enjoyed soaking up the sun! It was hard to come back in, but we had to eat lunch!
This afternoon was bingo! There were a couple lucky residents that won at least two times each! It was a good time! When we were back, they watched one of their favorites, Singin’ in the Rain!
Happy Friday! What a full and busy day it was! This morning, the McGuire Middle School Jazz Band and Choir performed for us! The residents really enjoyed listening to them and they thought they did a super job! When we were back from the concert, we walked and relaxed outside for a while before lunch.
It was the birthday party this afternoon! A polka band performed at the party! It was a great gathering celebrating all the June birthdays! After the party, we had even more music with James piano playing!
It was a wonderful day!
Happy Thursday! This morning began with humorous stories between kids and their parents and funny little thoughts. Here’s one that they liked…”I sat down with my 3-year-old daughter who was playing at her dollhouse. I asked her which doll I could be and she replied, “The one that does the dishes.” The residents thought that was very smart of the little girl! After that, we stretched and threw the beach ball to one another. We also went out for a brief walk outside! It’s so nice to at least get a little fresh air! Before lunch, we watched an exciting Sea World dolphin show on YouTube!
After lunch and resting, we watercolor painted some nice summer themed pictures! There was also Music Safari this afternoon! Today Jennifer had a sing-a-long while she played the piano! The residents also had a lot of fun watching and playing with a resident’s 10-month old grandson! It was a great day!
Hello and happy Wednesday! Our day began with Pastor George at Ecumenical Worship Services upstairs in the theatre. After services, some resident attended Catholic Rosary and holy Communion in the chapel. Before lunch we all engaged in some “Name That Tune” and “finish the lyrics” for some popular songs. The residents loved it and with most of the songs- we all started singing the rest of the song! After lunch, the sun came out and we enjoyed the garden and the warmth of the sun on our faces. Bingo was our big game of the day. Followed by an afternoon matinée musical. Enjoy the photos!
It was a great morning spent with the Primrose School Preschoolers! A few residents helped them with a newspaper shark craft. The kids and everyone had a great time together making the sharks! The sharks were all different when they were finished from “scary” sharks to happy sharks! They were all so cute and funny! They brightened our day! Today was the last visit from Primrose School, we’ll miss them over the summer!
Jim Roth was here today to play the accordion for us! We all had a wonderful time listening to him play all sorts of songs and the dancing was fun too! Diane and Tolstoy also came in today! Tolstoy has a new guitar that he played for us! He seemed to really like playing it, even more than his piano! It was a great time watching him show us all his agility tricks also! Enjoy the pictures!
Happy Monday! This morning started with devotions with Chaplain Mari. It was a special time spent together singing two hymns, “For the Beauty of the Earth” and “I Love to Tell the Story.” She started reading from a book about warm hearted stories of faith, family, laughter, and love. It was a humorous story that they all enjoyed. After that was The Daily Chronicle. Everyone thought the quote of the day from Queen Victoria was funny, “I don’t dislike babies, though I think very young ones rather disgusting.” Next, we exercised by starting with our stretches and then beach ball toss. It was another great time with so much laughter!
This afternoon, we played an under the sea picture bingo game. It made it extra fun when one of the ladies brought out her shells and fish figurines to show! Then we enjoyed time outside! We were definitely ready for it after these past rainy days!
Happy Friday! This morning, we began with kids Bible quotes. They were quite funny as you can imagine! Then, The Daily Chronicle was next. We learned that The Ringling Brothers Circus premiered in Baraboo, WI on this date and in 1965, Roger Miller received a gold record for the hit “King of the Road.” We enjoyed a couple videos of the circus and listened/sang along to the “King of the Road” song. We got our exercise in with the balloon volleyball game! There were many smiles and laughter that filled the room! It was a good time had by all!
A couple residents went to Red Lobster for lunch, it was delicious and so nice to get out for lunch! This afternoon, we played a couple Mind Jogger games and then watched The King and I.
Have a great weekend!
This Thursday morning began with morning funnies and The Daily Chronicle. We began with a couple funny stories with the theme, out of the mouths of babes! It would have been Perry Como’s birthday today so we watched videos of him singing a few songs including, “Catch a Falling Star” and “Magic Moments.” We enjoyed lots of music this morning, starting with Perry Como, then Dean Martin and big band. While the music was playing, we stretched, threw the frisbee, and tossed/kicked the beach ball to one another. Before lunch, we enjoyed watching a couple YouTube videos of baby elephants and panda bears. Everyone thought they were so cute! There were many smiles this morning!
This afternoon was bingo and Music Safari! Jennifer played a couple 50’s/60’s songs while the residents stretched and played stick instruments. Some of the ladies starting competing with each other to see how high they could kick their legs! It was great fun! She led a rhythm game with the sticks…my this group has such great rhythm! Jennifer also had a finish the song game! It was a great time! Enjoy the pictures!
