Happy Thursday! This morning started with our What's Next and Mind Joggers word games. They all did a wonderful job! Next, was stretches and our favorite balloon game! The residents really gave it their all! It's wonderful when we can laugh and have a great time together! It was requested that we watch baby videos after exercise so we all enjoyed a few of those! Those baby giggles are the best!
After lunch and resting, many residents played several games of bingo! Music Safari was after that! Jennifer played patriotic music today while they sang, played sticks, and waved sparkle wands! It was a wonderful time!
Happy Wednesday! Our day began with Worship Services in the Theatre with Pastor George. It was a wonderful service and we all left with smiles on our faces, as we always do, when Pastor George preaches- he is quite the comedian for the Lord's Good News! Next, some residents gathered in the Chapel for Rosary and Communion, while the rest of us enjoyed some exercise and a few short stories for Chicken Soup for The Soul. After lunch and our rest break we gathered in the family room once again for some Glen Miller music. We had originally planned the music to be played outside in the garden, but the weather did not cooperate with our plan. While the music was playing I gave hand massages and painted nails. It was a very relaxing afternoon. Enjoy the photos!
Happy Tuesday! It was another wonderful day here at the Willows in The Fountains at Hosanna! We began our day with some Chicken Soup for the Soul. I read a few short stories that were both funny and inspirational. One particular story had us laughing extra hard about a woman who was sking and her skis got lost from under her. Next we stretched and flexed to Frank Sinatra, first with some inside stretches- then we moved outside to the garden for a walk among the flowers. What a beautiful day! After lunch we enjoyed a few games of Bingo before gathering in the Family Room for our live concert with Jim Roth! Today was a great sing a long to the classic American songs, "America The Beautiful" and "Your A Grand Ol Flag" just to name a few.
Thank you for reading! Melissa
Hello and happy Monday! Today began with devotions with Pastor Mari. Everyone sang a couple hymns including "In the Garden" twice. It was a very nice time! Next, was bingo! We all had a good time playing several games! A couple residents were pretty excited when they won multiple times, even right in a row!
This afternoon, we baked a chocolate cake! The whole area smelled amazing! Everyone that walked in asked what that good smell was?! It tasted good too! While they were eating, they watched an Andre Rieu orchestra concert. It was wonderful music!
Happy Saturday! We started this Saturday with jokes that we all agreed were kind of cheesy but cute! Some of them gave us a good laugh! Next, was stretches and balloon and beach ball exercise! It was a fun time for all! Before lunch, we watched a couple videos of Johnny Carson funny moments with animals! This afternoon was bingo! It was exciting that almost everyone won! After bingo, the residents watched a wonderful musical with Gene Kelly and Judy Garland! It was a great day!
Happy Friday! Today began with some good stories from Good Old Days and Reminisce magazines. The most embarrassing moments stories were quite funny! We ended with movie finish lines! There are definitely some movie buffs here! Next, was morning stretches and the balloon game! It was a great time had by all!
This afternoon was the June birthday party! Everyone enjoyed music and delicious cake! It was a wonderful gathering celebrating all eleven birthdays!
It was a great day! First, we did our What's Next word games. What a wonderful job they did with those! Next was exercise with the parachute and balloon/balls. It was such a fun time all together and with our young volunteers! Then before lunch, we watched videos of funny pets. It was all smiles and laughter this morning!
This afternoon, we did some random trivia and "Off the Beaten Path" theme trivia. Everyone did a great job with those! It was interesting to learn some new things too! We all enjoyed Music Safari after that! It was a blast! Jennifer played great music including, The Beach Boys, while they played drums, maracas, and waved ribbons! They also played a dice game where they answered certain questions of things they like depending on the number they got. It was wonderful to see the residents joking around and laughing and enjoying the time together! It was a great day!
Happy Wednesday! We began our day with a special Ecumenical Worship Service hosted by our own Pastor Mari and an honored guest, Pastor Alexander, head Pastor at Hosanna! It was a beautiful service and our closing Hymn, Just A Closer Walk With Thee was so beauifully sung- it brought tears of joy to our eyes. Our Catholic residents gathered in the Chapel for Rosary and Communion, while others went outside to enjoy the late morning sun in the garden. After lunch and a little rest break we went back outside for a BUBBLE FEST! It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the bright blue sky- so we celebrated with blowing bubbles. Oh, the smiles! Before we all got a little too much sun we headed back inside to play our favorite game, BINGO! What a great day!
