Happy Saturday! As the last day in March and the day before Easter, our day was spent with a lot of "egg-sitement"! We reminisced of coloring eggs with our families, I had a slew of egg/ chicken jokes and we even did The Chicken Dance for exercise today! It was wonderful and it was great to see all the smiles, claps and laughs by all the residents! This afternoon we even had an "eggs- ra" special BINGO! Candy inside plastic eggs. I would have liked to have an outside egg hunt- but alas, the inch of icey snow we received last night put that plan to rest- gotta love the Minnesota Springs! Have a wonderful Easter and enjoy the photos!
Happy Thursday! Our morning was filled with funny stories and cheesy jokes, stretches and beach ball game, and YouTube videos of our lovely state. This afternoon we watercolor painted and had a wonderful time singing lots of songs with Jennifer!
Happy Wednesday! Our day began with Ecumenical Worship Services led by Pastor George. Catholic Rosary and Commiunion was next. Many thanks to the volunteers from All Saints that come out to share this special time with our Catholic residents. Balloon Swat game was next- all enjoyed this exercise to the modern music of Taylor Swift! After lunch we all enjoyed some relaxing music while I had the opportunity to provide some individual time with some residents. Next we all gathered in the Dining Room for our favorite game, BINGO! Musical Moments was next on our list. Please enjoy the photos!

Happy Monday! Today began with a wonderful hymn sing including songs, "Holy, Holy, Holy," "Amazing Grace," and many others. We then moved on and had exercise with stretches and balloon toss. Before lunch, we had a good laugh watching Johnny Carson with animals. Today was also bingo day so a group enjoyed playing many games together. Diane and Tolstoy came in to visit today. It was such a great time!
It was a wonderful morning with lots of hymn singing and we all enjoyed some humorous children's prayers and the Bible through the eyes of a child. Of course there were some parts we had never of before until now! It was very funny! We also got in our morning stretches and kids say the darndest things videos! Lots of laughter this morning! This afternoon, we baked a chocolate cake and enjoyed watching Young at Heart.
Happy Friday! We started the day with The Chronicle and learned about lots of fun things that happened this month and who's birthday it would've been. We watched some great videos to go along with it, including Lawrence Welk playing the accordion! The morning ended with a few stretches and funny videos. This afternoon was the March birthday party! We had a wonderful time celebrating together with fantastic folk music and we all enjoyed the cake as always! After the party, we had a good time with our what's next, finish the line game and ended with singing a couple hymns.
It was a wonderful start to our Thursday with a hymn sing including songs, "It is Well With My Soul," "I Will Sing the Wondrous Story," and "Blessed Assurance." Then we all had a good laugh with some motherly humor which everyone could relate to! Next, was our stretches and flexes along to music. Before lunch, we enjoyed watching videos of the lovely scenery and beaches of islands like the Bahamas. We agreed that it would definitely be nice to be laying on a beach right now! This afternoon, a group worked on a fun picture detective activity and we all enjoyed singing a lot of songs together!
Happy Wednesday! It has been a very busy, special day here in the Willows. Our day began with Ecumenical Worship Services in the Hosanna! Chapel. Our preschool friends joined us to open the service by singing some beautiful songs. The sermon was given by Pastor Mike Swecker from Hosanna! Next, all of our Catholic residents had a special visit by Father VanHoose from All Saints Catholic Church. He performed the Sacrement of Annointing of the Sick and Communion in a special Lenten Mass. Next we all gathered in the family room for our Spring weather update from Paul Douglas as well as some trivia and a few songs from the 1930's like, "Flat Footed Floggy" and "Sing". And all this was just before lunch! After lunch the residents enjoyed some rest time and I had some individual time with some residents. Game time was a big hit, followed by Musical Moments.
