Next, we stretched and flexed for a little bit before watching some very cute and funny videos of dogs in their Halloween costumes. This afternoon a big group played Halloween bingo and a fun game of pin the spider on the web. It was a great time! The day ended with a sing-along. It's always so much fun singing together!

Tuesday we have our very own Halloween Party in the Willows at 2:00pm and Wednesday, Halloween we will have about 50 preschool trick or treaters in full costume parade all about the Fountains and in the Willows! The kiddie parade starts at 11:00 and the BIG Party with Beachcomber Bob is at 1:00! Please join us is you are able- it will be fun for all! We had a wonderful day, Mind Joggers and Stretch and Flex in the morning and after lunch we enjoyed BINGO, some wonderful sing a long songs and lots of visitors today! Just as a funny- we played "Ghost" Bingo today- it's pretty much like regular BINGO- but we had an empty chair with a bingo card and chips that I watched and played from aside- when the "ghost" won... everyone won! It was great fun! I felt like Oprah handing out candy to all- residents, staff and visitors. I really was a hoot! Too bad I didn't get any photos of that. Happy Friday! We started the day with fun trivia about historical events and people. Then we stretched and flexed for a little bit to our relaxing music. We ended the morning with more Halloween videos of babies and kids. Those all gave us big smiles! This afternoon was the birthday party! We all had such a great time listening to the performer Woody sing old-time songs while playing different instruments including the piano and guitar and he even juggled for us. We had even more music this afternoon with James piano playing and a sing along of all our favorite songs.
Happy Thursday! We started the morning with some hilarious news bloopers and classified ads. It was hard for us to believe what some people had said but made us laugh! One of them was, "Free Yorkshire Terrier. 8 years old. Hateful little dog." After that we exercised with stretches and flexes first and then had a good game of ball toss. We ended the morning with cute Halloween videos. This afternoon, we played a word game where they came up with different words to each category and then the day ended by singing lots of songs together, including some old-time and patriotic songs.
Happy Wednesday from The Willows! I apologize that my post yesterday disappeared! I was surprised when I logged on today to see it was not their- perhaps it will make its way back and surprise me again. Anyho- today was a busy day for us. Our morning was filled with a wonderful church service lead by Pastor George and our own Pastor Mari. Next, our Catholic residents participated in saying the Rosary together. We had just enough time for some word games with "Joggin your Noggin'". I adore the name of the book- and its a lot of fun! Today we had to name things found at the beach- one resident told a story that she lost her favorite hair bow in the Lake while fishing and she still misses it to this day! After lunch we enjoyed a few games of bingo and some song singing with Suzie Q! Enjoy the photos! Happy Tuesday! Today was a beautiful sun shinning day- a little nippy... but the sun with a blue sky and painted trees are always welcome! We started our day with the weather and trivia fun! Stretch and Flex was next to some fabulous big band music. Next, we arm chaired travelled to our own state of Minnesota! We learned about all of the wonderful local beauty: Minnehaha Falls, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and all of the wonderful lakes. The travel videos sparked some great memories of visiting and truly had some great visuals of all the wonderful seasons. The best video was a short one, entitled, "Top 10 reasons to not live in Minnesota". We all laughed at #5... Minnesota nice! It was no surprise that #1 was the winter! The afternoon was filled with Music as Jim Roth was here with his accordian! Fun for all!
Happy Monday! It was a lovely morning with devotions with Pastor Mari. The residents sang "Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us," "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus," and "Jesus Loves Me" and we all enjoyed the message she shared. After that, we learned about the history of the World Series and enjoyed fun trivia about it. Then, of course we had to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game!" Next we did some stretches along to beautiful and relaxing music. The morning ended with adorable YouTube videos of babies in their Halloween costumes. This afternoon, we played lots of bingo games together. Great time as always! Diane and Tolstoy also came for their visit this afternoon. Everyone had a great time giving him treats and watching him do all his tricks!
It was a wonderful weekend! We stayed busy with lots of funny stories, trivia, word games, exercises, singing old-time songs and hymns, and watching hilarious YouTube videos of The Carol Burnett Show and animals and babies. We also had a blast playing bingo on Saturday and had a good time watching the Vikings game on Sunday!
Happy Friday! It was a great morning that began with our Daily Chronicle which included trivia, historical events, riddles, and birthdays. We sure was fascinating! Since it would've been Chuck Berry's birthday this week, we watched a video of him performing "Johnny B. Goode" and some had a good time dancing. After that we stretched and watched a travel YouTube video of Sydney, Australia. This afternoon, we had a nice time watercolor painting and singing a whole bunch of songs together! It was a great time!
