What a busy couple of days we've had here in The Willows. We sang lots of Christmas carols, had fun with some word games and trivia, played bingo, Christmas decorated, and watched White Christmas. It was a wonderful time!
Hello and happy Tuesday! First, I would like to remind you all of our special event we are having here at The Fountains for our Catholic residents tomorrow. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will take place at 11AM in the Fountains Chapel. Our day started with Family Feud! We split up the residents into 2 groups and played the classic tv show right in our living room with a white board. We had a blast! The residents decided that their two names should be "turkey" and "pumpkin pie". I even did my best to say "survey says" just like the host! After lunch we made some lovely Thanksgiving crafts and had a sing a long. My favorite memory of the day was listening to Elvis tunes during lunch and the residents and staff were dancing in their chairs and doing Elvis impersonations! You can only imagine how funny that was! I'm having some technical difficulties with uploading the photos- hoping it cooperates with me tomorrow! Sorry about that! It was a nice morning here in The Willows. We started by singing a few hymns together. Then did our stretches before a fun balloon toss game. We ended the morning with some adorable YouTube videos of babies laughing hysterically at dogs. This afternoon, a small group had a good time playing bingo while another group enjoyed singing a few favorite old-time songs. The day ended with reminiscing about Thanksgiving. We talked about our favorite foods and all the work it takes to make that big meal, family and football, among other things. It was a wonderful day!
A brief reminder to families that on November 21, Fr. Chad VanHoose, associate pastor from All Saints Catholic Church will be leading Mass with Anointing of the Sick with your loved ones.
It was a wonderful start to our Sunday by singing several of our favorite hymns. We then exercised for a bit with our stretches and flexes. Before lunch, we sang songs and watched very cute videos of babies and animals which brought lots of bright smiles! This afternoon, we had a good time doing all sorts of fun trivia about Thanksgiving. We ended the day by singing patriotic songs together including "God Bless America" and "America the Beautiful."
Happy Saturday! We started the day with some funny turkey jokes but we all thought they were just a bit too cheesy! Then we got in some of our morning stretches to get our bodies moving. We also enjoyed some fun trivia and word games before watching funny YouTube videos before lunch. This afternoon, we had a good time playing several games of bingo and singing a bunch of old-time songs together. It was a great day!
It was a nice morning here in The Willows. We began by reminiscing about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and learning about some fun trivia. We're all excited to watch it soon! After that we exercised with our stretches and ball toss which helped us to wake up a little more. Before lunch, we all had a good laugh watching Kids Say the Darndest Things with Art Linkletter. It was a busy afternoon playing a turkey tail bingo game and putting together a fall decoration. It was also Music Safari this afternoon. Jennifer played songs on the piano, including some hymns. She also played songs like "Over the River and Through the Woods" while they played the sticks and used the parachute. It was a great time!
Happy Tuesday! We started the day with lots of trivia. There were a couple music trivia questions so we also listened to the songs, "Some Enchanted Evening" by Perry Como and Glenn Miller's "A String of Pearls." Then we exercised by doing our stretches before a ball toss game. Before lunch, we all had a good laugh watching a couple scenes from I Love Lucy. This afternoon, we had a good time playing our word game, what's next. Jim Roth was also here this afternoon playing a variety of wonderful music on the keyboard.
Happy Monday! We started the day with devotions with Pastor Mari. We had a lovely time singing two hymns together and listening to her message for us. Then we all enjoyed some funny and cute stories of kids in church. We did our morning stretches and flexes and watched an interesting video of the badlands for our arm chair travel before lunch. It was a great afternoon playing bingo and word games. It was a wonderful day!
