The morning began with The Daily Chronicle. We learned all sorts of things like, on October 24, 1897, the first regular comic strip, “The Yellow Kid” was published in The New York Journal and on October 26, 1861, The Pony Express ended after only 19 months when the first transcontinental telegraph was invented. It would have been Johnny Carson’s birthday on the 23rd! One of his humorous quotes was, “Anytime four New Yorkers get into a cab together without arguing, a bank robbery has just taken place.” Later, we watched some segments from The Tonight Show. He was the best! Next, we stretching and loosening up from head to toes. That got us ready for the balloon volleyball game!
It was the October birthday party today! What a fantastic time as always! There was good music that everyone enjoyed singing along to and dancing to! They really enjoyed the cake too! When we were back from the party, we listened to James play the piano. He played many beautiful, classical songs with some upbeat songs as well. The residents absolutely loved it! ~Jessica
