The morning began with 1920s humor. They enjoyed listening to all the funny lines from many celebrities of the day like Mae West, W.C. Fields, Charlie Chaplin, and even Albert Einstein. One of Mae West’s quotes was, “I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number you get in a diamond.” A quote they liked from W.C. Fields was, “Start off every day with a simple smile and get it over with.” After all those humorous lines, we exercised and danced along to 50’s music. Then we played a balloon volleyball game. Lastly, we played the category ball game. It was a busy, fun morning! The residents worked on a snowflake watercolor painting. They turned out wonderful! Music Safari was also this afternoon. Jennifer talked about and played songs of Aretha Franklin. We learned that Aretha Franklin was close to MLK Jr. so she played a couple songs related to civil rights. It was interesting! She ended by playing a relaxing song while blowing bubbles! ~Jessic
