Happy Tuesday! It was Octoberfest here in the Willows today! Lots of fun German music and polka dancing! Our day began with the local good news and weather, followed by Stretch and Flex to some great polka music! Next we had an Arm Chair Travel series on Germany. It was wonderful to hear some of the residents tell of their travels. One of the best chats was that of German food... weinersnitzel, sausages, pretzels and beer! The residents had a great time! For lunch we enjoyed Fish and Chips (Not German, but England is close by at least) and cole slaw and a rice crispy treat. After lunch we all enjoyed a popcorn party with classic movie clips and our star of the day was last, but not least- Jim Roth! He is truly the Polka King of the Twin Cities and the residents adore his live music and funny stories in between! To make it a true accordion event we even danced with bubbles for the true "Laurence Welk" experience! It was a great day!
