Happy Monday! It was a wonderful morning that started with devotions with Pastor Mari. Mari's message was about six different steps...gratitude, love, hope, generosity, laughter, and patience. Residents sang "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." After devotions, we had fun exercising with the ribbons. We then did a short game of finish the rhymes and songs. It was a great afternoon playing many games of bingo and then singing lots of songs together. It was such a nice day!

Our hymns were, "Jesus the Very Thought of Thee" and "My Jesus, I Love Thee". Next, our Catholic residents gathered in our Fountains Chapel for Rosary. Then, straight to lunch. Lunch today was a delicious pork sandwich with peach salsa and citrus cous cous. After lunch we all gathered in the family room for a program that was "for the birds"- laugh! We read the birding section of the Star Tribune which lead to some great conversations about raising baby ducklings and remembering the call of the loons in the evening when visiting the lake. We also watched some fantastic footage of baby mallard ducklings. It was a great time! Next was musical moments and today we just had to bring back the big band music as it really gets our toes tapping!

After Stretch and Flex we all enjoyed some trivia about the universal advice of mothers! We all laughed at some of the funny things we've all said to our kids like; "If you eat all your carrots you will have good eye sight!". One resident shared that she once told a blind man on the street when she was 6 that if he ate more carrots he wouldn't be blind! Needless to say, she said she got a spanking when she got home! Our afternoon was spent outside in the garden and we also enjoyed Jim Roth, Polka King of the Twin Cities! What a great day!
It was a wonderful weekend! Our Saturday began with Sacred Stories where a volunteer shared a biblical story with us and we sang "I Love to Tell the Story."
